Procedure Log


Purpose
An Emergency Medicine Procedure log is required of all residents. Our computer program will allow you to track all procedures which you have performed. You are responsible for the accuracy of this information. The following are the core procedures that always need to be documented.

The following procedures must be documented in the residency procedure log.

  • Naso and endotracheal intubations
  • Cardioversion/defibrillation
  • Chest tubes
  • Lumbar puncture
  • Cricothyrotomy
  • Pericardiocentesis
  • Peritoneal lavage
  • Dislocation reduction
  • Cardiac pacing
  • Vaginal delivery
  • Central venous access
  • Procedural Sedation
  • Medical, adult and pediatric resuscitations (not dictated in ED)
  • Trauma, adult and pediatric resuscitations (not dictated in ED)

The procedure log is located at www.new-innov.com. Residents are responsible for entering their procedures. Procedures done during the procedure lab should also be entered in the log.
