Disaster Medicine
1. MN-DMAT1: Opportunites to join the state federally funded disaster team are available. The requirements of membership on the team can be found at the associated hyperlink. Admission to the DMAT is pending approval of the DMAT commander and successful completion of required background checks. The MN-DMAT1 has deployed both locally and nationally.
2. Regions Hospital disaster Committee: gain perspective on hospital based disaster planning including recent topics such as pandamic influenza, local severe weather events etc.
3. Medical Resource Control Center: learn about coordination of EMS transport and incident command system from the perspective of the MRCC operator who is responsible for directing incoming ambulacnes to local area hospitlas. Become familiar with MN-Trac which provides real time analysis of hospital bed availability sorted by acuity state wide.
4. Opportunities for involvement at the state level via the Minnesota state emergency operations center are being explored
