Medical Quality Management and Patient Safety

Focus: To teach the fundamentals, practice the application, and prepare the fellow for practice and/or leadership in medical quality management and patient safety.  Ultimately the curriculum will lead to certification in medical quality through the American College of Medical Quality.

Content: This is a 2 year fellowship that includes the completion of a masters degree in business administration, completion of a publishable project, certification in medical quality management, and the practice of clinical emergency medicine and teaching.

Funding: Funding for the fellow's salary and tuition comes from working half time clinically in the emergency department at Regions Hospital and affiliated outlying facilities, CME and membership funds, and tuition reimbursement.
