Topics:

Introduction to Crisis Resource Management (CRM)
CRM, adapted from crew resource management training in aviation, deals with the non-technical skills in critical medical situations: teamwork, communication, situation awareness, leadership, anticipation, etc. Emergency department nurses and technicians also participate in this portion of the day.

Toxicology (Tox)
Toxicology scenarios using the adult and pediatric mannequins for the residents and students on the toxicology rotation.

Pediatric Critical Care (PCC)
Critical care scenarios using the Pedia-Sim high-fidelity mannequin. Focus on differences between adult and pediatric anatomy and physiology, pediatric critical care diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Rapid Sequence Induction/Airway Workshop (RSI)
Aimed at the G-1 resident on the anesthesia rotation, this workshop focuses on the difficult airway and the use of airway adjuncts such as the iLMA and Combitube.

Procedural Sedation (PS)
The HPS and Pedia-Sim mannequins will be used in scenarios dealing with procedural sedation. Learners include the anesthesia G-1 and the G-1 and G-2 on pediatric emergency department rotations.

Medical Student Workshop (MSW)
Medical and Trauma Resuscitation workshop for 3rd and 4th year medical students on their EM rotations. Facilitated by EM G-2 and G-3 and utilizing Adult HPS.
