Trauma Lead Role

To delineate the role of the Senior Emergency Medicine resident (EM-3) while on SICU.

The Emergency Medicine senior resident (EM G-3) will provide team leadership for Trauma Team Activations (TTA) and ED consults in the following manner:

1. EM will do all the team leads from 5PM to 7AM seven days a week. During the 7AM 5PM period when the third year is on duty in the SICU, they will be team leaders. During the period from 5PM to 7AM, the third year in the department will be the team leader. If the third year on the SICU gets too busy , they can call back down to the ED and let the third year in the ED know that he/she should run the TTAs.
