Clinical Presentations
Description on how best to present the details of a patient's case to a supervising resident or faculty member.
We would like to have the students present their cases in the following fashion:
- Patient name
- Room number
- Patient age
- Chief complaint (incidental complaint)
- Patient stability
- Working impression
- Priority-based differential diagnoses
Once this introduction to the problem is made to the staff physician or senior resident we would like you to proceed on with the following elements of your presentation:
- Pertinent history
- Pertinent examination findings
- Proposed investigations
- lab
- x-ray
- CT scans
- etc.
- Proposed consult or consults
- Intended therapy
- Discharge plan
